Re: Follow-up on Sport Fishing knot tests
IF YOU USE MONO LEADER WITH BRAID, the bimini and bristol knot combo is the 1-2 punch. You can max out the drag on Daiwa and Shimano 2500 size reel(typically max drag is around 15lbs) and will never break 10lb braid in slow steady pull. Tie enough of the bimini and it be comes really simple and the bristol/no name/yucatan/reverse albright (they all tie very similarly) is very easy.

Leader knot
I used to tie a bimini and a no name with braid and fluoro but I have eliminated the bimini by using a slim beauty knot. It's smaller and holds just as well if not better.
Re: Follow-up on Sport Fishing knot tests
The slim beauty is probably the strongest SINGLE line to line connection between braid and flouro. I tested against the bimini/no name with 10lb PP and 30lb leader and it broke around 15-17lbs. Not bad at all considering that there is no doubling of the braid.
The bimini/no name broke at around 18-20lbs. I tested both knots 3 time.

aquaholic, glad to hear the Slim Beauty knot is strong. I have started using it this year to join FC to braid and have had no knot failure.
