Energy PT

Post by quantum angler nt » Wed Jun 04, 2003 4:27 pm

What applications is the Quantum Energy 600PT (6.2 gear ratio) appropriate for? Is it possible to fish soft plastics with this reel?
Has anyone tried this reel and do you recommend it?

Even though the reel is "faster" I think it's a good speed to have
because like some others, I rather slow down my retrieve rather
than cranking faster. I like the 600PT for working jerkbaits
at fast speeds, spinnerbaits, etc.

Plastics, yes, you can. What you should be doing with plastics
is use your rod tip to move the plastic on the bottom instead
of the reel. that way you can feel every bump.
If you're swimming it, no problems there.

Now that all the Energy PT reels are made in Japan,
yes, I would recommend it. It hasn't failed me for
over 1 year now, and I have one made in China and one
made in Japan. The one made in Japan is definitely
more fine. But I like both of them. :D

Wait, I thought you are a Quantum guy. :D
What reels do you use?
