Rapala Spinning Rods

Post by wandy » Tue May 13, 2003 9:47 pm

I was thinking of getting a 2 piece rapala spinning rod for finesse fishing. Does anyone have any experience with Rapala rods?

Many thanks

Hi. Sorry, can't really help you on this one since
Rapala rods are fairly new. Picked one up
at a local show recently, felt just ok. I probably
wouldn't buy it though. The guides aren't that tough.

At the mid-low end, I would probably go with Berkley's Lightning rod or Shimano Compre/Clarus rod. At mid-upper range, an All Star, Gloomis, St.Croix or Fenwick HMG. And at the top, sky's the limit...one of those Japanese rods that you can't get in North America.

Can't say much about the Rapala rods because no one i know uses it.
