Manns Baby 1 minus

Post by LowRange » Fri Nov 17, 2023 2:15 pm

I remember these as a kid and I caught fish with them on pond but they kind faded away as I moved on to more modern baits over the years. Today I went to a tackle shop run by a 94 year old man that I know has ancient baits on the wall for sale. I got some old Robo worms and strike king 3x elaztech like lizards I remember from years ago. I saw some hard baits but the hooks were black nickel so they can't be old but they still have that glitter appearance I remember my baits as having. Nostalgia kicked in and a got a few. Are these any good? I can't seem to 2 of the 3 bait colors on Mann's site. We're these a limited color production of vintage colors on modern baits?

Damn nice score!

I don't recall all the colors, but did you look on the package to see where the baits were manufactured?

Made in the USA. Crystal Glow Alabama Shad, bluegill and Bronze Back.

I think I got my first one around 92 or 93. It worked very well. I caught a few fish with it this year, too.

I've heard those old ones I have are very different from the newer ones. I saw pictures, and the shapes are different.

Well then there's a good chance this run of colors were among the first run or early in the cycle of the OG bait.

That Crystal Glow Alabama Shad is a current bait. The packaging looks recent. The other two colors look to be recent runs, but not on their site. Go fish them. They all catch fish.

Nice! That's a nostalgia bait for me.
