Favorite type of topwater bait?
Favorite type of topwater bait?
Who doesn't like a topwater bite? But with so many ways to catch them on top, which is your favorite?

Frogs. Obviously All topwater is fun, but only a frog has the potential to get a giant bust through thick vegetation to get your bait.

It's hard to pick one. I said popper because I've probably caught the most and biggest fish on this style. I haven't been able to find a good frog bite this year but that can be hard to beat with how vicious the strikes are.

This.
I have a lucky one I've owned since 1994. I've caught hundreds of bass on it. One day I'll loose it to a Pike, but I won't feel bad.
It has done it's duty.

My vote is for the spook/sammy style bait. I like the explosive strikes you get on any topwater, but walking the dog with short or long pauses, trying to figure out a cadence that will make fish react on any particular day is what makes those the most fun, to me anyway.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Popper for me, but I expect that crawler percentage to grow as more members participate.

Not even a close one for me. Mos def the Zara Spook Jr's. Just have to change out the hooks.
Get your kids hooked on fishing, and they'll never have any money for drugs or alcohol.

I just love walking the dog spooks...even the spitting versions like a luckycraft gunfish.
slip bobbing is the laziest way to fish
