Butyrate crankbait info

Post by TK_duluthbass » Sat Nov 24, 2018 6:51 pm

I’m wondering what current and discontinued cranks are/were made of butyrate? Awhile back I read somewhere that the old warts were made of butyrate and they stopped using it because it caused cancer, but after doing a search this evening I found there are at least a few cranks still using it - Norman NXS, Luck-e-strike G5, Bandit Rackit. Why aren’t they making the new wiggle warts with butyrate if other manufacturers are still using it?

Excellent question. My guess is that it has to do with money. What ya wanna bet?

Its not because it causes cancer, its made from wood pulp, its the same plastic that uvex uses to make safety glasses. I'd say its price and possibly related to where the plugs are being produced.
