All things considered (price, availability, etc.) it's tough to beat the KVD 1.5. I have a bunch of the Megabass S cranks that catch fish for me but I don't know if they are any better than the KVD 1.5's.

Rapala DT-6
-One of the best casting crankbaits ever made, you can launch it or cast very accurately with it, doesn't flip through the air
-Has a medium tight lively wobble that works great for cold water inactive fish, warm water aggressive fish, and everything in between
-Small enough to catch numbers but still gets plenty of big bites
-Comes through both rocks and wood well for a round bill crankbait
-Gets to depth very quickly, can make it run a little deeper or shallower with heavier or lighter line or higher or lower rod angle to cover a wide depth zone
-Great colors for all situations
-Even when its not the "best" crankbait to use for the situation its usually not far behind
If I couldn't have a DT 6 my 2nd choice would be a Bandit 200, it has all the attributes of the DT-6 comes through cover a little better, gets a few more bites, but doesn't cast nearly as well.

jackall aska sr. cant beat it.

I fish from shore so I don't routinely toss cranks. On the odd occurrence that I am in a boat, my favorites would have to be a Wart early and late in the year with either a KVD/LC/RC2 1.5 squarebill.

LC 1.5 hands down...I use it a majority of the time but have a box full of other baits that get no use

Old Bagley DB 3 in Tennessee Shad. In the trees, flats to medium deep.

If I could only have 1 crank it would be an old Lucky Craft RC 1.5 in copper green shad.

Re: If you could have only one crankbait...
There are so many great cranks out there, it's so hard to choose only one. Mine would also have to be a well worn, countless fish caught, LC 1.5... unfortunately, had to "retire" one this spring after nicking the corner of a dock I was casting under... I've already been breaking in a few others slowly, and have a few more back, hopefully my stash will last for many years to come.
