Ok,,so I fish NYS reservoirs.. Browns and Lakers.. I know Crocodiles work..and live bait..but what stuff in the Rapala Line would work? I figure some of the Bass hard baits I have, may be useful for Trout..what do ya think?

Of course… they’re predators too you know. Realize they’ll target smaller prey relative to body size and stick to shiners. Gold, Silver, Metallics and such often your best bet.

I use the duo small shad baits. Got trout from 9" to 5 lbs on them and the kvd squarebill in 1.0.... These got it done for me, but now i live in the south so i share this info.

Jointed Rapalas, Shad Raps, Tail Dancers, and any of the lipless cranks would likely work. I've had success jigging Rattlin' Raps for lakers, as well as using a yo-yo retrieve when they are "shallow" in the spring (in 10-20').

Lucky craft pointers are one of the best baits I have used for trout.
The 65 is amazing at catching large trout for such a small bait.

Jerk Jerk pause. Pointers suspend very well. Cadence depends of course. Where I fish for trout they like to hit on the pause. My other small jerkbaits don't get bit as much because they sink.

In the rapala line, stick with CD1, CD3 and CD5, xr6 or the smaller husky jerks.
Yozuri Pin's work great as do the L-minnow.

Another vote for jerkbait - Last week I caught a bunch including a 4lb brown trout on a Megabass Vision 110 Jr.

I have had very good results with the Rapala Flat Rap 6, both in streams and in reservoirs. I like it more than the Original F5 or F7, It's a shame it has been discontinued. A hypothetical FLR4 would be perfect for small streams.
