Most are good, so it really comes down to where you're at in price. A lot will be on Lucky Craft silent, the LC RTO, the LC Rattle version and there is a new, $6.99 version, silent square bill. I like the Bagley Balsa B, and the Rapala DT-Fat 3 as well as the Yo-Zuri 3DB but it really is hard to go wrong with any. What I do is look at a certain depth zone and go from there, the new 6th Sense Crush 50X square bill gets a lot of good reviews as well, and most of the baits I listed are going to run around 8 bucks on average and the LC baits are a little more but not a lot considering most are under $15. The KVD 1.5 is probably the best know and most popular, it works well and is priced reasonably so you may want to start there and then move on to other baits in the same square bill configuration.

Lucky Craft BDS 3 is the best square bill I have used. Runs through cover like it isn't even there, never getting hung up. Has flatter sides compared to most square bills but still has a nice wobble that seems very natural.

Megabass S-Crank is hands down my favorite. A little pricy, but excellent action, great deflection, and awesome colors. Plus, it comes in 3 sizes.

Jackall Aska 60 the only square bill crankbait I caught bass, since I catch really few fish on crankbaits I assume that
one should be good.

I like the S-Cranks, also. At a lower price point the Lucky Craft are hard to beat.

Just wondering what the S crank does better than say the lucky craft? I may have to pick one up to check it out.

The S-Crank hunts or searches without needing to deflect off of cover making it effective even when it is not making contact with the bottom. I wouldn't say it is better than a LC but it is different, most square bills, even the inexpensive ones, have unique attributes that will trigger strikes at certain time under certain conditions.

I'll throw the Spro Fat John 60 into the mix. It's a silent squarebill that flat out puts fish in the boat.

I am a fan of the Lucky Crafts as well.

But the one that catches me the most fish is this one in the CR003 size:

They are second to none in my tackle box. Durable, sleeper colors, strong hooks, and a decent price. I bounce my cranks off structure like I am trying to lose them, this bait can take a beating, and just keeps coming back for more.

I don't fish squarebills too much since I fish from shore unless I am fishing them over submerged weedbeds. I have a bunch, I think best bang for the buck is without a doubt the KVD 1.5. Green Gizzard shad is my favorite color for semi-stained to clear water. I've also had good luck with the Evergreen Combat Cranks. I have two of the Megabass S Crank, threw them a little bit but only caught a few bass on them so far.
