Norman DD14

Post by lifeofRiley » Tue Mar 22, 2016 4:59 pm

Does anyone on here have experience with this crankbait and have personal experience/info about it? I'm wondering how deep it runs, and more importantly how shallow I can throw it if I put it on some heavy string. Looking to toss it in 4-8 feet maybe on 17lb. mono.

Depends on what you are trying to do with it, at that depth even with thick line its going to dredge the bottom, if thats what you are trying to do then i say go for it, heck I was tossing a dd22 in 10-12 feet of water just grinding it and killing them that way, its a something i will do quite often now. I am a big fan of the dd14's and 22's and the N's I would say they run pretty true to stated depth, great lures for the price have more of them than any other crank

I ditto what rogers says. I throw deep diving crankbaits in shallow water all the time. I do throw them on heavier line so I can get them back more times then not. I will throw and DD14 or DD22 in less then 10 feet of water. I will even throw them in less then 5 feet. I suggest a slow reel for it.

Good luck.

Norman has been absorbed by Pradco, might be a good time to get any favorite colors before they disappear.
