H2O crankbaits

Post by JWR075 » Mon Feb 22, 2016 7:41 pm

What is the general thought on these (outside of the blatant copying of other lures).

I throw the square bills quite a bit! Very good bait imo. Decent hooks too.

A reasonable question, but a provocative and irrelevant statement.., imo.

Provocative and irrelevant statement? Many knock store brands due to them "copying" famous lures and automatically consider this a negative without even trying them. My statement was meant to rule out this opinion because it has nothing to do with the lures performance.

I'm interested in hearing opinions on these too.

The Jerk Shad is a good bait and you can't beat the price when they are on sale. Up here in Pike country it's good thing having back ups for when they steal one.

I like these baits. Most of them run true and the hooks are decent as well. I started using a clip with most of my crankbaits and I can tell any difference between these and the ones they are copying.

CRUL and CRULD ... Change the hooks and hang on !

I use #6 short shank 1x strong 2x short. The size up in hooks causes them to rise very slow and sometimes suspend.

I've used these for about 4 years now and cant complain.

Not much experience with the rest of their line.

Excellent baits. I've caught fish on everyone I've tried. In fact my PB LMB(9.03 lbs) came on the crd plus crank. The cruld has also come through during tough bites when the bass are keyed in on small bait. I also stuck a nice 6.12lbs on the rattlin t first trip out with it along with many clone sized bass. At $4 bucks a piece they are an excellent value. When they go on sale for $3 bucks a piece, it's an absolute steal. Try em out I'm sure you won't be disapppinted.

So stopped by Academy this evening and picked up 3.5" jointed sunfish (coppernose crappie) swimbait, ultimate jerk shad (ghost), model S (American shad), scsfw (summer shad), crul (bluegill), and hollow body tiny toad (natural grass). Will be giving these baits a workout over the next week, can't wait.

I have had some great success with the 1.5 wakebait in sexy shad color. I changed the hooks as soon as i took them out the package.

Dang, I wish I had known you were still looking to buy some. All the H2O baits were on sale last week for $2.99.

Wish I would have known this. These were kind of last minute pickups will I was at Academy picking up some folding chairs. Fished them for a little yesterday but only caught a dink on the wakebait. The frog is a slight disappointment be the last one I had. This frog seems to sink at random times (some cast it never sinks on others it sinks almost as soon as it hits the water, but never appears to have water inside). Can't wait to give them a real workout.
