Vision 110 Jr.

Post by OkobojiEagle » Fri Nov 07, 2014 10:14 pm

I'm a fan of the LC Slender Pointer 97... how does the Megabass Vision 110 "Jr." compare/differ in action to the Slender Pointer 97?

The Jr to me fishes just like the regular sized 110. If you're familiar with those its a must have. Only problem is with so many color options they are ADDICTING!!

I personally don't understand the logic behind the JR. The 110 is a small profile bait to begin with and is about as finesse as I want to go in the pre spawn. Just my two cents.

110 jr works great in the big lakes if the fishing is tough. I've done pretty good with them. They cast very nice too unlike some smaller jerkbaits.

Agreed. Love mine. Sometimes that slight reduction in size makes the difference for me.

I felt the same way as you, I threw 4" to 5" jerkbaits and the 110 was a winner but learning to use a different rod and go with smaller baits like the X-Rap 8 or the Pointer 78 really opened up another way to get the fish without having to resort to tubes or hair jigs. One of the reasons the Luck-E-Strike RC STX was so appealing was that they came out with the small model, I still remember the first day I used it, I was fishing a 110 in French pearl as there was just a slight color to the water but it was still clear. I fished for an hour and was going to start probing deep with a tube when I decided to give the small RC STX a try and I had the same French pearl (awesome color in the 110) color. My first class was off target because I didn't adjust for the smaller bait and so my second cast landed right where I wanted, jerk-jerk- pause and wham!!! It was on!! I never believed in the smaller ones but now I when I buy jerkbaits, if there is a smaller version I'll get it in addition to the larger one. I always start big, the exception is if the water is cold or a cold front changed the water temp for the worse, but 9 out of 10 times I will go big.

OK you guys sold me. I have a ton of the old 110s and use them often guess it's time to pull the trigger on a jr.

Ok, back to my question... The Pointer 78 & 95 stay in a narrow horizontal plane when worked. The Slender Pointer 97 scoots more randomly including vertically than the Pointers, the Flashminnow 95 even more so. Comparing the Vision 110 Jr. to the named Lucky Craft baits, how does it behave when worked? What is the action that makes it worth its price?

OK, I get it now... in a bass angler's tackle bag Lucky Craft jerkbaits and Megabass jerkbaits are mutually exclusive.
