SPro Little John

Post by fishballer06 » Fri Aug 29, 2014 5:07 am

Recently just picked a few of these up after seeing them in the store and liking how they looked. I got the MD version. What's everyone else's experience with these?

The MD is my most productive bait for Lake Michigan smallmouth. Casts a mile and great action. Comes with quality hooks as well.

I have two and both have caught a couple of fish. It's just not one of my go to cranks. Prefer my DT's, SK's and Lucky Crafts.

I've caught a few fish on them in the fall when the Wiggle Wart bite is on. Good alternative to the WW if you want to throw something a little different.

Good bait, I have both square bills and MD's. I like them, great hooks and colors, just not my go to either. I will say the square bill is awesome around cover, I've never had one get hung up. If fishing that 6-10 ft range like the md can be used for, my go to is a rapala DT.

Thanks for the input everyone. I've always thrown the DT line of crankbaits as well, but I figured these were worth a shot.

I think I have one. Does it have a computer chip lip?

I feel the same. I have 6 of the MD and there made well with good hardware but I have not caught a ton on them!

Don't know why I don't use them more. I can't recall ever not catching one on them. I agree with all the other positive comments

Hmm did they stop making the MD? Didn't see them on TW. Looks like they been replaced with a new lineup

Hmm, my local Field and Stream shop has plenty of the MD's in stock.

I managed to pick up a few of the shallow models with the computer chip board lip. I love these things.

These work especially well during the winter/spring time down here around Toledo Bend and Central Louisiana's smaller lakes.
