Favorite 6ft crank not named DT-6
Favorite 6ft crank not named DT-6
Love fishing the DT-6 and so many fish over the years but time to expand my horizons...
Right now I fish
1)LC RC Silent 1.5 - great bait 2nd best producer next to dt-6
2)Ima Pinjack 200 - shows promise but not enough time on water yet
3)Jackal MC60 MR - solid bait but not a consistent producer
These are my go to 6ft cranks....lets see what produces for everyone else.

Re: Favorite 6ft crank not named DT-6
The DT-6 is hands down my favorite but I do like the Norman Little "N" and when bluegill spawn the Koppers Live Target bluegill crank, 1/2oz medium runner is very hard to beat. I have both a shallow version of that crank and got the medium diver last season as we had more rain and with higher water I wasn't getting down with the shallow model. I also learned that the extra 2' I get makes it perfect for that 5' to 8' zone right off of rip rap after turn over in the fall, water temp right at the mid 50 degree mark the flat sided bluegill is tough to beat during that time. The Little "N" is when I need to run a little shallower than the DT-6 but I need to make a decent cast, the DT-4 is great for finesse cranking but the Little "N" is heavier and I can cast it better and the profile of the bait is awesome too, sometimes it is the perfect alternative to the DT-6.

Lucky Craft SKT MR. Works great in all seasons as it has a slightly tighter wobble than most cranks. I always seem to have one tied on and they always catch fish. They dive 5-6 ft.
Spro Little John is a good crank for the colder months as well.

Lucky Craft 1.5 DRS

For me, I like the Bomber 4A, 6A, Wiggle Wart and JSR5. Those are what I have caught bass on so far. I have a couple DT6 and a SKT MR I am going to toss this weekend.

Man i just typed 2 huge paragraphs of kickass jdm/balsa crankbait suggestions and 'mini reviews', only to be timed out and loose it all. Ugh.
I hate that stupid time out, times you out in like 4 minutes. I wish theyd f'n do away with that already.
Short answer- try a tennessee tuffy little pt or TN killer, or one of the new zoom wec stumpy coffin bills. Silent stuff with tighter wiggles, like the DT. Stumpy's are good, and coffin bill will make it run even tighter.
For muddy water- try a imakatsu scare brow 7
For cheapo.... I like bandit 200 silent.
Generally, i just run my 4ft'r squarebills with rod tip down to water level to hit 5-6ft.
I say if your gonna 'expand your horizions', go jdm or balsa/handmade. Thats where cranks really start to differentiate themselves and enter the 'woah!' Zone.
