Yo-Zuri - Yay or Nay??

Post by biggs » Wed Jul 17, 2013 9:57 am

What are your general thoughts on Yo-Zuri lures?
They look alright and the price makes them seem like quality baits but I have heard different opinions from people I don't really trust.

The Sashimi Rattl'n Vibe Lipless Crankbait kind of intrigues me. Are they any Yo-Zuri lures that stand out??

I have had quite a bit of success with the Rattlin' Vibe..esp. the discontinued "Hard Core" version. ](*,)

Not so much with their other lures however (read jerkbaits and cranks).

They discontinued the 2 best producers for me, the Yo-Zuri jerk-o, and the banana boat, they were great in tough conditions and I have a few of each left. The floating crystal minnows make a great dingy water jerkbait, you still need 2' of visibility but if that is all I got then the crystal minnows come out, the reflective tape they use really catches light. I haven't used any of the sashimi baits yet so I can't comment but everything that I have used from them has played a role in my fishing.

The Rattlin Vibe is the best trap type bait out there, IMO.

Yes...more so in streams and for panfish and trout is how I use them...however, I have caught LM and smallies on them.

I also really like the Pins Minnow. I use the 2" a lot when messing around for crappie and panfish. All my Pin's are the older ones however, before they switched over to the krinkled reflective material. The new one's may be more reflective but my eyes prefer the look of the older ones.

The 3-D minnow/fingerling is awesome, mainly use it in the salt for trout.Been wanting to try the Pins Minnow for a while now, guess I'll have to pick one up,should work good for black snapper.Havent found much I like to throw for bass though from them yet.

So it seems like the rattle traps and the pins minnow are some of the best in the Yo-Zuri line up.
I have read that the Sashimi rattle traps seem to go off course once burned.

Agreed. I've caught more fish on these than any other hardbait over the last 10 years or so.

I've got a handful of Yozuri Wack-o's. A good topwater bait, caught lots of bass on it. Unfortunately they have stopped producing it.

The walk n dog was the best spook bait around. The surface cruiser was the best pencil popper. Both discontinued. What's the deal yo zuri?

sashimi jerkbait is a beast.
dont sleep on that thing.. you will definitely be missing out.
its light weight is deceptive. I use the one that is gold and sliver
depending on which way your looking at it.. its best all around jb
i've ever used.
