What new hardbaits are you most excited about?

Post by Hogsticker2 » Fri Jul 13, 2012 1:29 pm

From what I've seen from Icast thus far I'm really digging the new Spro billed version of the BBZ, and liking the new Koppers crappie lipless crank. The new KVD Slash Bait Jerk Bait looks like it might be a good one too. What caught your eye?

The Storm lipless crank that I saw on a video looks like it is going to be a mean bait. The other ones for me are the Spro McStick 115, Savage Gear CBL Prey, and the Rapala BX Minnow. The KVD Slash bait and the Storm Twitchin Stick are alo on the list but I would get the others first.

Really not trolling... but for what ever reason I am really interested in Luck-E-Strike's new lures. Especially the RC Stick Jr. I think those will make a killing up in NY. Also the Freak in smaller sizes will basically become deep diving square bills, really interested in those as well.

Rapala BX Minnow and the Jackall Boil Trigger may very well be on my radar 8-)

im looking forward to a few of the new jerkbaits coming out, mainly the spro mcstick 115, lucky craft flash pointer and rapala bx minnow. also the smaller rc stx looks good too, thought the only thing i have caught on the first one so far is a decent sized bullhead  havent thrown it much yet, though

liking that they dont dive that deep, as i use them mainly for straight retrieves over some grass / cabbage at night for walleyes, so the shallower diving depth is nice.

like the strikie king slash, too, but it looks a bit odd in the lip area, will hold out judgement till i see it in person and on the water.

I'm really excited to see the Savage Gear stuff. From everything I've seen so far it looks really good. Also excited about some of the new lucky craft baits, and even though its not hardbaits, the collaboration between optimum baits and lucky craft is interesting...

Imakatsu Waddle Bat. The video shows a really wild hunting retrieve pattern you'll not see on another shallow crankbait. The small rear blade that causes it is a unique feature. Innovative = new and catches fish. New and doesn't catch fish = just another gimmick. I'm pretty jaded about lure designs but this one looks promising to me.

Go to Youtube and type in Lipped BBZ-1 Shad. You will see a TackleTour video of Bill. Originally released for the European market, looks like it's making way to the west coast.
