Sebile Magic Swimmer

Post by Micropterus salmoides » Thu Mar 17, 2011 10:56 am

These were all the rage a while back. Are you guys still using them? How successful have they been for you? I have a 125 SK that I purchased, but have yet to use it.

A few months ago someone started a "Best and Worst Hardbait of 2010" Thread, where every member was to say what hardbait worked best and worst for them over 2010.

Sebile Magic Swimmer got voted worst by almost half the people that responded. The topic went a few pages deep to give you an idea of how many members posted...........

I've never caught anything on 'em.

ive caught a good amount of fish on them, but they are not my "go-to" swimbait. They are very shallow running and look great, just not the most productive lure for some reason

I did too, I got them in every variation and threw them under as many different conditions/retrieves I could think of and.........nothing.

vArm, thanks for jogging my memory on the Best and Worst Hardbait of 2010 thread. :big grin: I used Google Cache to retrieve it.

I caught some nice smallmouth in Maine on the 125 SK in rainbow trout last spring. I'll be throwing it again this season. Not highly productive but produces a quality bite for me.

I keep wanting to try one for Musky fishing, but I'm still waiting for the Musky folks to give a verdict on it.

I did not catch anything with it last year. Worst bait for me.

I'm guilty! I was the one who started the "Best and Worst Hardbait of 2010" thread.

Your comments about the Magic Swimmer being voted worst by the most amount of people are spot on. For some reason, it seemed like everyone was ripping on it.

As for me, I couldn't vote the magic Swimmer as the worst hardbait of the year since I haven't fished one since 2009. But if I had started a thread named, "Best and Worst Hardbait of 2009", the swimmer would have been my pick.

I don't know what the problem is, but I couldn't buy a bite with one. In that sense, it kind of reminded if Berkely's Bladerunner's. Sometimes I could actually watch fish trying to get out fo the way when I was fishing them.

I used it before. I haven't caught a fish on it yet and it doesn't look that realistic as my Spro BBZ-1 Shad. I somewhat regret getting the Magic Swimmer and I could have saved my money to get more BBZ-1 shads  .

I've caught tons of fish on magic swimmers :^o

Just kidding, this bait has been worthless for me, and yet I still have it in my tackle bag...
