One thing I found out using the magic swimmer is that it is not a numbers bait, I throw it during the warmest part of the year when I'm catching a lot of smaller fish. I burn it and then stop it dead for 2 maybe 3 seconds and then burn it again, that is the retrieve I've found works best and like I said, it doesn't seem to be a numbers bait but it produces big fish for some reason, the smallest fish on that bait for me was a 17" smallie, only caught about a dozen or so fish on it but they have all been quality fish.

results like that reaffirm my belief that the magic swimmer is a salt water lure first, and a freshwater lure second.

Haven't caught crap on the Magic Swimmer, but I bought a Sexy Swimmer as a joke and started killing smallies with it. Now I have half a dozen Sexy Swimmers.

The current issue of Field & Stream lists the Sebile Magic Swimmer first among the "30 new classic" lures it profiles. The author says of this lure, "I've been on the water more than once when nothing but a Sebile Magic Swimmer drew a strike."

The lures featured are not necessarily bass lures.
