So this YKG G-Soul seems like worth giving a shot. How many of these glowing opinions are based on inshore saltwater? Offshore? How about casting reels? Hard to find, only see it in small-ish spools. Does it come in bigger spools? Like 300-500 yards?
I have not seen YGK G-Soul in anything greater than 200 meters, both domestically and in Japan. I have been using the line for three years and and exclusively for the past two years in 16#, 30#, 40#, 45# and 50# for both spinning and baitcasters with primarily a fluoro leader and in some instances a mono leader.

The past six months I have also begun using YGK G-Soul SS112 Sinking Braid (14#, 16# and 20#) for some 'sinking'/bottom contact applications. Very happy with the line's performance to date.

Doc

I’ve been running the g-soul sinking for well over a year now on 3 spinning outfits.

These are primarily used for inshore fishing

Line has been great no issues at all

I’ve also thrown the x8 in 50lb on casting reels both fresh n inshore it’s thin but is holding up great so far

Only about 7 months on it but so far so good.

I feel like jbraid grand 15lb has all the characterics you need. Limp, quiet, casts superb, good knot strength.

For max casting distance, nanofil but only if you're knows are on point and if you run long leaders for rocky areas
Long live the Jerkbait

Does the SS112 (4 carrier) feel as good as the G-Soul (8 Carrier)?

Same, I put 100 meters on each reel.

I only have the 10 and 14# for the SS112 and it feels a little more texture body and quite a bit noisy going through the guides just reeling up slack line dry. I have 10# SS112 on a Curado BFS for ice fishing so will see how it works out on the ice, whenever I get to go out on the ice.

I still find Sufix 832 to be the most durable, strongest and smoothest.

I ran G-Soul last winter for ice fishing and it worked excellent, I'm running it this winter also.

Same here, just waiting for the ice, we also need any water we can get at this point...

I've been buying 300 meter spools from Jun since early last spring.

Feels good to see this from someone else. I have never had any issues, use 8lb and 10lb. I also use the 50lb on one casting reel. The other Sufix I like is Nanobraid, use 6lb on a 2500 Ci4+ FA Stradic w/ a light rod. The Nanobraid is so thin I should have put more backing, the whole spool barely filled the 2500 at all.

Imma give Sunline Xplasma Asegai 10lb a try this year, been using normal PP for years. No complaints with PP.

Sufix has a newer 131 braid that is thinner for the same poundage... I'm testing it out for wear and abrasive resistance. Looks promising so far, but it a bit costlier as compared to the 832.

Yeah I noticed it was really high. I planned on trying some if I'd bought a super high end spinning reel.

Bump...

Anyone with some input on Sufix Nanobraid?
