I heard someone say they won't use Line Conditioner. His reasoning, he said from experience was, it makes the line supple and he loses all sensitivity. Thoughts? Brian.

He is allowed his opinion. It would be quite easy to find out for oneself if it matters. I dont use LC on FC cause I dont feel its needed. I use 16# Sniper.

It’s always been my opinion that the line manufacturers would recommend it if they thought it was beneficial. So far I haven’t seen it.

I use KVD line conditioner on spinning reels with fluoro and it helps prevent those dreaded loops. I can't imagine it effects sensitivity but who knows. How could you even measure the effects as sensitivity?

Never compared it, I suppose theoretically less tension grabbing the guide train could impact feel or pullback from a lure or fish.

Whether it's enough to notice is a whole nother thought

Part of the reason fluoro is so sensitive is because the stiffness of it helps aid in slack line feel, where as braid being more supple is not as good at slack line sensitivity but much better at straight line feel because of the very limited stretch. Maybe he thinks the conditioner is softening the line enough to make the benefits of a stiffer fluoro a non factor. I use it with some lines and have yet to feel the difference with my hands.
