Got some to try out. Got the 40# to spool a JDM Tatula SV that's on the way to me. Figured I can test 2 things at once. Lol. Anyone tried it yet? How's the durability? 8 carriers are a fine line down here, so I'm hoping this one's a bit better than the rest of them.

I don't know, but I want some. I really like the original.

I've got a couple spools of some 40lb. I like it and comes at a great price but it doesn't seem like anything totally unique on its own. Reminds me a lot of Sufix 832.

The new 13-strand Sufix 131 is a very nice braid, but expensive. The 16-strand Gosen braid is also outstanding.

Let us know how it goes. I tried regular j braid x8, in 20lbs and 30lbs, I like it but the color faded super fast. It not as strong as PP but very quiet.

How's it working out for you?

I like original x8...only complaint is it does seem to "hold" water some. Not great when you're trying to stay in contact with light jigs in deep water/current.

I've got it spooled on my JDM Tatula SV, but won't be getting out on the water any time soon. Will be a few weeks.

Does not feel the same its a bit more coarse. But the regular x8 is smoooth so thats to be expected. Its honestly right in between x4 and x8 as far as texture goes and diameter is consistent as well.

Interesting. Is it as soft/limp as original x8?

Strange these braids are not available in the US. Easy to source in Oz:

Both are super smooth and round and hold a great FG knot for a leader. Have used the Gosen on large barramundi with good results, but have yet to test the 131 in rough country on big fish.
