Most reliable and thinnest 40/50lb braid line...

Post by wirinhar » Sun Jul 08, 2018 8:19 am

Hi All,

What is the most reliable and thinnest 40/50 braid line you all have used??? Mind sharing with me.

I need it to spool the SV 1016 for cranking and I am not a great caster ( all I need is about 80 yards the most )

Thank you all in advance.

Regards,
WW

Don't spool 80 yards of braid, that's 240 feet. You'll never cast that far. A 150yd spool of line, using 150 feet lets you do 3 reel spools. No waste. That's plenty for bass fishing. I don't think that you can go wrong with TCB8, Samarai , Smackdown . Even the cheaper Jbraid and 832 are decent braids. I have used them all in the pound tests that you are inquiring about.

Do you use a leader of some kind?

One of my go-to high-end PE line for heavy duty (PE3 and above) lure fishing is YGK Castman Full Drag. I don't think it's the thinnest but it sure is durable and reliable. Expensive but worth trying out to see how you like it.

Yes, I do use 30/40 lb fluoro Carbon leader at about 2 foot in length for all my crankbait rods.

Fishing Giant snake-head while they are in finicky mode is so much fun :). ( the size is about 10 - 20lb )

Anyway they are many brands in my area but they are only good initially when they first launched..... after that they are plenty fake stuffs here. I am just thinking of exporting myself rather than getting it locally

Anyway mind to share what will be the best braid line you have used?

Thanks in advance,
WW
