Which 12 pound fluro to get?
Hi all,
I am looking for a super sensitive fluro line that I want to use on my 1/4-3/8 oz Jig set up (Steez SV TWS on Orochi Spinnerbait Special).
Currently I am running 14# Sunline FC Sniper, but I would like to reduce the diameter and also increase the sensitivity of the line.
Of course I am looking at Tatsu and Shooter. Any thoughts on this?
I live in Northern Cali, so cold weather is not really an obstacle here.
Thanks all!

Open water? I use 20lb shooter for jigs, 12lb is kind of too thin imo.
Re: Which 12 pound fluro to get?
Shooter is your best option. Tatsu is not nearly as sensitive. Somebody on here may chime in about JDM options for super sensitive fluoro. There are a few that I haven't tried. The Toray Superhard Upgrade was very similar to the Shooter, but it is no longer available.

Would be mostly open water. I have other rigs for non-open water applications.

I use sniper fc and invisix on my moving rigs.
But for my more finesse rig I want the absolute 'best' FC line.
What I am hearing so far is:
* Tatsu: very good manageability, has some stretch (less thatn Invisix?!)
* Shooter: not as good in manageability as Tatsu but is more sensitive
Thoughts?

Get the YGK F1 Waker Highpower fluorocarbon, very sensitive and thin line.

I would agree with the above statement. For jigs, I would definitely choose Shooter over Tatsu.freelancer27 wrote:I use sniper fc and invisix on my moving rigs.

Shooter will have less stretch also, which is good for setting heavier diameter jig hooks. Shooter is also harder and does well around hard objects (wood and rock). It resists abrasion as well any non-leader material fluoro that I have tried. I always try to fish the heaviest hook that I can get away with when fishing casting jigs. I've had too many big fish straighten out thin wire hooks.

Thanks! I think I will give 12# Shooter a try!

I am really liking the YGK 112 braid that I am fishing. This makes me interested in their fluoro. What other fluoro(s) would you compare this F1 line to? Is it as hard as Shooter?Cracker wrote:Get the YGK F1 Waker Highpower fluorocarbon, very sensitive and thin line.
Re: Which 12 pound fluro to get?
I never tried Sunline Shooter. YGK F1 Waker seems to be harder than Sniper. I only have 10lb YGK line, and besides Sniper I haven’t tried anything else in this test on high end side. I have Tatsu in 15lb test, and it feels a little softer and a little better manageable than F1.toddmc wrote:I am really liking the YGK 112 braid that I am fishing. Another vote for Shooter.

sunline sniper in 14 or 16 pound test, strong, limp and sensitive.
Re: Which 12 pound fluro to get?
Just picked up some Trilene XL Flouro in 12lb at the Basspro Fishing Classic. Very limp and pliable line. Haven't got to fish it a whole lot so the verdict is still out on it's durability and strength.
