Maxcuatro?
Maxcuatro?
Anyone do a break test on PP Maxcuatro yet? I checked it out in stores and it just seems like they re-labeled the line with the next higher strength test. For example, 50lbs pp is the same diameter as 65lbs maxcuatro. I'm just curious to find out if it's just hype or if it does offer a higher strength to diameter.

I was also skeptical, but after testing, I concluded it’s the real deal. Only thing I don’t like about the Maxcuatro is the color. I liked the aqua green of the PPSS, but the moss green is more difficult to see.

How smooth is this line? More like regular Power Pro, or Super Slick? I use Sufix 832 right now and it is very smooth once broken in, hoping this is similar.

It's not daiwa braid smooth but way smoother than original PP and much rounder. I would say similar to sunline braid.JBcrankaddict wrote:How smooth is this line? More like regular Power Pro, or Super Slick? I use Sufix 832 right now and it is very smooth once broken in, hoping this is similar.

Thanks! Just spooled up 2 reels and will see how it works out. Last experience with Power Pro was not good, hopefully this will change my mind.cndbasshunter wrote:It's not daiwa braid smooth but way smoother than original PP and much rounder. Re: Maxcuatro?
I was not a fan of power pro after many hardships prior to maxcuatro. Maxcuatro is the shizz. thin, strong, and great knot strength. It's not smooth like seaguar smackdown, but it is better at sawing through vegetation

Re: Maxcuatro?
I'm hopeful that Maxcuatro will eventually be available in 10 or 15 lb test, which would be better suitable for spinning.

Re: Maxcuatro?
I spooled up a couple reels and have been fishing this line for a week or so. Very smooth line, reminds me of 832 going through the guides. Still has a little memory to it, as it likes to spring up on the spool some. Seems very strong, and doesn't cut as easily as 832. I'm hoping it breaks in more so I can swing a little harder on my casts.
