Alternative braid line excluding Power Pro and Sufix 832

Post by Ceasar » Tue Nov 08, 2016 2:37 am

I know Power Pro and Sufix 832 are the best braid lines. But I want to find something with good cost/benefit. Thanks in advance.

Daiwa J braid is a decent cheaper soft 8 strand style braid, if that's what you want. If you want a tougher 4 strand the Sunline 4 strands are a pretty good alternative to power pro.

Get your kids hooked on fishing, and they'll never have any money for drugs or alcohol.

I tried Maxima this year as a recommendation from Goodyear and this site. I only bought it about 2 months ago, so I can't give my final thoughts but so far its pretty solid braid. I hope to get more time next year with it, but so far so good.

All 3 of these braids have been good to me.

I like the smackdown the most so far...

Just don't try the sunline tx1, it is hands down one of the worst braids I have ever used.

I have good experience with Seaguar KANZEN braid less than 20lb for spinning reel which is cheaper than powerpro.
