I wanna try this new line in 12lb.

Anyone else curious to try it out???

I am. It sounds interesting.

I'm anxious to try in both 16 hi vis and 65 pound I see T.W. has it and its priced cheaper than the regular sunline braid hope its as advertised and quieter better casting distance.

Just ordered some 12lb today

Got some 24lb hi vis yellow in the mail yesterday. Won't get to try it out until Sunday, but handling and spooling it up it reminds me of PP Super8. I'll report again after getting some use out of it.

Got out with it for an hour last night with some topwater action. Caught a couple in the 1.5-2lb range, so no real test there but here are my initial findings on the 24lb...

Pros: it's slick and casts well, seems as strong as you'd expect from a braid. No color bleed on the hi vis yellow. Diameter seems right for the lb test.

Cons: if this braid had TV show it would be called Fray-sier! It's very dental floss-like, and comes apart easily. Too easily for my tastes. Your tag end will fray so badly that if you don't make a clean cut, it can be a pain to get through hook eyes or bullet weights. (Tested at home, didn't fish it yet for that). If the main line separates and puffs up, pulling it taught brings it back to shape.

Aside from that, it's fine. I'll include a couple pics of the fraying and how badly it will come apart and puff up even if you lightly roll it between your fingers.

I always burn the ends of my braid for this exact reason, I will see how bad it is tomorrow I guess....

After another hour or two use I hate to say it but I don't like it at all. It's not round, or doesn't stay round for long, and knot strength isn't great on a uni knot with 7 wraps. Really wish they made SX1 hi vis yellow in higher lb test. Oh well, back to regular old power pro!

Why aren't you using a palmor?

still waiting for mine to get here, if its horrible I will just send it back I guess and go with Maxima again...

Knot break or slip out? Wrap the line twice through the line tie and tie your uni knot, will never slip.

Good question, I didn't pay attention to whether it broke or slipped. I usually double it up through the eye but didn't on anything because I was trying so many different baits. I'm not a fan of the palomar knot, it's always uni or snell for me.

I got my TX1 in today, its super thin at 12lb, I haven't spooled it up yet but it does seem to fray when cut.
A simple burn fixes that issue but we will see how it does...

I ended up stripping the line of and throwing it away.
After playing with the line a bit and having the line snag on anything it would fray like crazy.


Basically save your money if you are thinking about trying this line.

Glad I found this thread, was thinking of giving this line a try for a spinning set up.
