6 - 8lb. mono for topwater.

10lb. fluoro or mono for everything else, including flipping.

I buy 30lbs braid in 3000 yard bulk spools...

owning almost 50 combo's, and fishing for 10+ species, I bet 30lbs braid is on 40 of those 50 combo's....

only thing I change is the strength of the flouro leader.
It really works for everything other than very heavy cover or very finesse applications. I do like 12lb fluoro now for weightless plastics, but braid would be my second choice.

I think the question is incorrect, because it is depend from kind of fish, conditions like wind, rocks etc., boat or shore fishing, kind of reel, methods of casting, distance, yours wallet size etc.....

60lb braid. I have 4-5 combos with it, the rest all have different strengths of braid, fluoro, and mono.
I like TD-Z's

I use 12 lb test Tatsu flouro for almost everything. It's strong enough to set the hook as hard as I can without breaking and for Northeast Ohio I don't have line breakage issues with it. Anything lighter and I break on hooksets and anything heavier I lose casting control and distance. For cranking its 10 lb mono.
