Anyone using 20lb smackdown on your baitcasters?
Curious on how its holding up?
I have heard about people having lots of break offs, not at the knot....

I've been using the 20 and 30 for over a year now. Two break offs, both with the 20, neither at the knot.

Re: Seaguar Smackdown
One day, casting many different small baits for smallies in ultra clear water on a 7' Steez ML spinning rod, a SIlver Stradic and long lengths of 6lb Suffix Flouro leader material.
Cost me well over 100 dollars in lost baits on hooksets. It's a combo I have in regular use, no problems before of since with same setup. I believe it was 15lb? I can't remember, my local shop guy spooled it up for me to jig Detroit River for Walters.
Never again.

Re: Seaguar Smackdown
I have 30# and I feel it breaks rather easily for 30# braid . Ive never lost a fish due to it though. Trying to free snags is where the weakness shows up. Should be able to straighten hooks, break limbs, rip weeds, I do with 20# PPS8S & 832, but smackdown just snaps. Ive grabbed line with bare hand and pulled to free snag and line snapped, doing this with other lines would cause cuts to my hand. I like the line otherwise and bought some 40# to gain more strength.
Re: Seaguar Smackdown
Well we have to consider that the 20lb and 30lb Smackdown break close to rated strength. Most other braids break way over their designated weight.
