Not so Smooth

Post by Scattergun2570 » Sat May 07, 2016 2:47 pm

So I just got spool of Sufix 832 in 30lb test.. I have the same line on one of my freshwater baitcasters which i was using last season. The line that I used last year feels quite smooth,,very,actually.. and its Sufix 832.. but..the spool I just purchased doesn`t seem anywhere near as smooth to the touch... I am wondering..is it possible it feels smoother after using it for a while? This doesnt make any sense to me,,but I cant figure why this 832 doesn`t feel the same as last years that I spooled on..hmmm

Absolutely, as it wears with use it softens making it feel smoother. Also, I would guess that the colour and coating wearing off contribute to it feeling smoother.

Most coated braids become smoother feeling when the coating breaks down.

That single Gore strand is what you're feeling on the new line.
