The maxxima is great line.
But the fins 40g despite it's bullshit diameter rating. Is, at least to me. Better. It's the best line ive ever used for FW. Spooling up a few stella sw, saltiga and another stella fi along with a new undisclosed baitcasters. Gonna spool up some new steez twings as well.
crap's pricey....but after more than half a season and thousands of casts...it's still performing like it was just spooled.
It's a sheathed line..and doesn't rely on coatings for it's body. I like braids that have a bit of memory retention....(not like mono) but this has enough that tip wraps are non existant...and it doesn't twist at all which is evident by the lack of twist at leader joins.
thousands of casts and not a fiber out of place....
Best casting braid i've ever used.

The new spiderwire smooth is really strong line. It is impossible to break 50lb when hung. It is a little on the thick side as far as braid goes but its smooth and quite.

Daiwas j braid 50 breaks at 76 when I use a pr knot

Dude...my first week ever using braid. Back when i was a sophomore in highschool back in 97 i think.
I was using Fenwick Iron thread which was an ultra premium braid and one of the only braids available. 34$ for 150 yards if I remember correctly.
I used a polomar knot and got a jig stuck in a half dead tree....Pulled down about a 20 foot limb....wasn't some skinny twig either. That part of the tree ended up being great structure for about 10 years......Imagine that!!
Me and my buddy still laugh about it 20 years later!!!!!!!!!!!!
