Best Fluorocarbon

Post by Abuman1 » Sun Nov 13, 2011 8:14 am

What is the best fluorocarbon line for a baitcaster? I was thinking about getting Seagaur red label. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I use Tatsu and premium but I like sunline shooter the best it’s not as soft but it's stronger per diameter and is so much more abrasion resistant, plus the invisible is exactly that.

I don't know about using it on baitcasting reels, but I use Seaguar Invisx for my leaders. It has a small diameter for its break strength, and is very soft and stretchy compared to other fluoro's I've used. Hope I helped.

I have had great experience with Sunline Sniper in 12, 16, and 20 lb tests. I have also tried a spool of Vicious Pro Elite in 12#, and have been equally impressed. This Pro Elite is definitely not like the original Vicious hay wire.

Still, it is fluorocarbon, i check for nicks and abrasions VERY often. I am super careful when picking out the occasional over-run, so as to not cause friction and wealen the line. Experiment with knots and find one that you are confident with, and can almost tie with your eyes shut.

I just picked up some Vicious Elite during the black friday sale. I'm glad to hear it's working out for you because the price is right on the line.

Break strength or label rating?
