Berkley Vanish - Improved?

Post by bassninja » Tue Aug 30, 2011 5:13 pm

I see that on the label of Berkley Vanish it says "Improved - Stronger and Smoother". Has anyone fished the old Vanish and the new "improved" Vanish and notice any difference? Good or bad? It's been 3 years since I've used Berkley Vanish and there are a lot of reasons why I moved away from it.

No one has tried the new and "improved" Berkley Vanish?

I have tried both, and I won't make that mistake again. Although, I will admit the new stuff is better than the old stuff. I was still getting mysterious breaks during casting, and did not like the way the line handles. I'll stick with Yo-zuri Hybrid.

My dad had some 12lb on a 3000 spinning reel one time. It seemed to work well for him, no tangles or anything like that like the old vanish. It seemed to be on the stretchy side though.

With all the other options around the same price, it wouldn't be my first choice, but if I needed Fluoro in a pinch and didn't have anything but it, I wouldn't hesitate to use it.

Stick with the Berkley 100% floro, much better line than Vanish.

Looks like Vanish still has it's problems. So will probably stay away from it still.
