Stren Brute Line

I became interested in this line based on the information provided by the manufacturer which states:

"Stren® Brute Strength™ is Extra Strong, Extra Tough, Castable, and Mangeable. Other "extra strength"monofilaments advertise superior strength, but their line can be fat, stiff and hard to cast. Stren Brute Strength is different. A proprietary new co-polymer formula provides extra strength while remaining more flexible and easier to cast. Finally, an extra strong mono with the freedom to cast effortlessly!"

Not saying that the above is not true as I've not used this line. However, at Bass Pro's web site I found a label on a box of Stren Brute that shows 8# test has an average diameter of 0.013" That is a thick line for 8# test

Looking at other 8 lb line, it does look pretty thick. But not all that thick compared to Berkly XT, and Pline CXX other popular tough lines.

Stren Brute Strength
.013" (.33mm)

Pline CXX
.012" DIA. (.30mm)

Berkly XT
.012" DIA. (.31mm)

Stren Original
.011" DIA (.28mm)

Berkly Big Game
.011" DIA. (.22mm)

Sufix Siege
.011" DIA. (.28mm)

The monofilament that I use the most is Stren Original. In 12# test the spool label states diameter as 0.013". My micrometer shows 0.0135" so it is close to labeled diameter

My 12# test Stren tests knotless breaks at 14#. That 8# test Stren Brute at 0.013 diameter may/most likely tests significantly beyond 8#?

I was very interested in Stren Brute as it is available in Flo Blue which I can't find in a high tensile strength mono.
