Like many, I have an on going search for the perfect fishing line. I have yet to find it.
Floro's stretch, they all Stretch, as do Mono's. I don't want stretch when I fish Trig etc, I do want sensitivity.
I have tried almost every premium braid on the market and Samurai remains the best in my opinion.
I just tried the new Suffix 832 Braid, but I need more time to truly have an opinion. I can say this, this line holds water which is very evident on casting, it sprays more water than any other line I have tried. The claims that this line sinks is questionable.. I tested the sink rate (2" length in a clear glass of water) and found that Floro goes down fast, Mono also sinks, but at about half the speed, braid floats. The 832 sank to the bottom of the glass at almost the same rate as Mono, However, after I let the lines soak in the glass for an hour, lo and behold the 832 was floating on top with the braid. Why, I don't know, but the only variable is the Gore fiber. Spiderwire FloroBraid is reported to have many more Gore fibers than 832 and they say it sinks faster. Wonder if it stays down after it sinks????
For now, I will continue to fish 30lb Sam with a 6' floro leader joined with an Alberto knot.
