Worth fixing Shimano Chronrach Ci4+?
Worth fixing Shimano Chronrach Ci4+?
I have a chronarch that needs the works including a new spool. Wondering if it's even worth getting it fixed considering how expensive spools seem to be for this reel. Any input is appreciated.

I just tried to order a spool for a friend from Plat and they don’t have any unfortunately. You can find beat up/parts ci4’s on eBay for around a hundy. It’s a shame as the spool was only $38. Good luck.

Unfortunate. Thanks for the reply.

If you decide you don't want to fix it--I'll buy the worm gear off you if it's still in good shape.
I have some Chronarch 100D7s that uses the same worm gear and the part is discontinued.

You can maybe find the parts needed such as the spool on the this forum in the buy/sell section.

I think Shimano is still redoing there parts numbers. Some of the parts listed on there web page that says discontinued are still available. I can't believe Shimano would discontinue parts on a current reel. I would call Shimano if you haven't already.
