All new steez sv tw

Hmmmm...from Earl Campbell to Marcus Allen on the spool, eh?

We shall see what performance advantages this brings, along with the rest of the package.

Concerning the move to a 32mm spool, I think it should be okay. I have been surprised by my Alphas SVTW (non shallow) since it has broken in. For 3/8 spinnerbaits and smaller lures it doesn't feel too choked off and still offers great control. A lighter version of that spool with updated braking could be great. Not sure the diameter of this new Steez spool though.

Looks like a super comfy reel to palm, but the 32mm spools are a deal breaker. I have no interest of ever using a steez reel, and not being able to use my slp1010, rcs1060, zpi spools and so on. Having to use a wrench to adjust the cast control cap is beyond stupidity. And yes, i know, you don't need to adjust it, but when you swap a spool, YOU DO.

Looks like Daiwa is playing the game of no-mo spool swapping capabilities...agreed, these items are total brain farts.

There are other 32mm spools out there, but I agree, it was a mistake going away from the 34mm with all the different spool options. I'm going to stick with my original Steez SV TWs and my one CT model.

My hope is that in a year or two, they release a 34mm steez like the steez a hlc has the 36mm vs the 34mm that's on the standard steez a. If they do this, i will 100% buy it cuz i can easily tell the reel gonna be a banger, but if they don't, i will ignore it like a new steez was never released.

I also don't understand why they're going with anything under 33mm for general purpose reels. Sure, if you use thin diameter brain to a fluoro leader, and you use for jerkbaits, you won't need much line. If you flip, you obviously don't need much line, but what if you're bombing cranks with 16lb fluro, or use it for frogging with a 50-65lb line? You need line capacity, and a 34mm spool offers the perfect amount.

Mine just arrived and man this thing is tiny compared to 16 Steez. Palms amazing well, just a little wider than an Alphas SV TW. I'm not sure how it compares to a Steez CT, since I don't have one.

It does seem similar to the 21 Zillion, but both mounted on a rod the Steez palms a bit better for me.

Does anyone know what the spool side plate is made of? I think the US ct sv was all magnesium (frame, both side plates), but the JDM was zaion (mg frame+gear side). A TW II is zaion as well I think.
