Daiwa Zillion Type R drive shaft

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Daiwa Zillion Type R drive shaft

Post by Steffen_82 » Sat Mar 13, 2021 3:17 pm

Hey guys, I am looking to swapping the drive shaft ( the one that holds the main gear, drag discs, star drag and handle.
Why??? I am trying to fit a Livre Handle on it but that one comes with a handle nut that screws into the drive shaft. The Zillion Drive Shaft is designed for a handle nut that goes directly over the entire shaft. My question is... is there a drive shaft that fits the zillion that has the handle nut assembly like the steez???

Hope this makes sense and someone can help me out.

Jdream drive shaft is a direct swap. I put it on my 50th. I prefer the screw in handle nut. You can get them from PLAT for fairly cheap. I believe part #22 on both schematics...it's at the top of each page either way to verify.

You can get a livre nut instead of the bolt

Thank you guys a ton for the quick help. I was not aware that livre makes different nuts for daiwa. I guess i'll look into that since it seems the cheaper and more convenient solution to the problem.

Thx a ton gentlemen!!! :D

I want to say OG Steez crank shafts will work also, but it has been years since I tried one, so I might be mistaken. If you have one you can try and see. I might have needed to take out dragstar washer to get proper drag range.

I am selling the exact thing you need from a Daiwa Luna 203L. Look at my post F/S viewtopic.php?f=7&t=85658
