Shimano really should have used CI4+ and changed the FB
Honestly, I don't care if Shimano named it Sally, if it works good I will use it.

You’re right that the other things matter more and most folks who complain about the name, including me, will be purchasing one. But anyone on this forum is an enthusiast for tackle. The way it handles, looks, and maker all matter to varying degrees. But for an enthusiast so does the name. And why not? It’s an expensive piece of equipment and when others notice the shiny new thing and ask what it is, we have to have a straight face while saying... “Vanford”. Which has all the visual imagery of a rusted out ford econovan.
How could they change the Stradic name? I can't think of a single reel that has more name recognition. Its like a Honda Civic, its just not going anywhere. But with Shimano, they decided to throw away their "Civic"BRONZEBACK32 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 06, 2020 1:19 pmShimano really should have used CI4+ and changed the FB

They never needed to add “Stradic” to the CI4+ moniker in the first place. I realize CI4, CI4+ is a material, but those reels aren’t known as “Stradic CI4+” those spinning reels are commonly known as just the “CI4+.” They could have easily named the new version that, and and gave it a new two letter designation to denote the new iteration. When I hear somebody talk “Stradic,” it is the aluminum framed reel, and white colored, first thing that pops in my head. The people that screw this stuff up at Shimano are way overpaid, IMO. Daiwa has the same issues, too, lols!SSS wrote: ↑Sun Sep 06, 2020 5:51 pmHow could they change the Stradic name? I can't think of a single reel that has more name recognition. Ya I’m dying to find out both how it is and when it will actually be released. Some websites now say October or even November release date. Even with Rona, this seems to be taking forever. Or maybe it just feels that way because of all the supposed release dates that have come and gone.
