Have you tried the Yumeya shallow spool in either ?
I have one in my Bantam and I think it performs much better than the stock spool over all

I have not. Does the bantam have the same MGL spool as the 2020 Met?

I personally have been very satisfied with the JDM spool and haven’t thought to swap with aftermarket. The lightest baits I usually throw are 1/16 shakey heads with some sort of small French fry or maybe speed craw. The JDM spool with 8-10 lb tatsu on the falcon expert medium light is a very nice setup.

Fished both yesterday, I'm also heading out tonight

Love the reels, they cast amazing and feel amazing, I have 2 brakes on and set to 3.
The Metanium 2020 palms better then the older model and the JDM knobs are my new favorite, I do however
wish the handle's where a bit longer, I think the handles are 84mm on these reels I got (two 6.2:1 reels).

I just ordered two Bantam MGL XG handles for the Metanium's
I hope they are 90mm.

Tolerances are tight, feels almost tighter then the Bantam.

The balance on the NRX 852c is good but on the GLX 842c its the best balancing combo I have used, the colors of the
Metanium and GLX go perfect together.

Will see how they hold up in the next few months, but I'm sure they will run just fine.

Got the handles today, now we are talking

Upon adding the 90mm handles I opened both reels up, both reels where very dry, added some star grease and
now they are better then ever.

For those that order a new Metanium, I recommend opening it up to see if it came dry.
