New Curado 70 mgl K

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Anyone know a price? If it is still 199 that is a steal

$229 according to whoever runs their Instagram. Still not bad, I’ll be adding one to my collection

Normally I would be excited about new reels but the curado 70 mgl looks kind of ugly with those color schemes. Especially the cheap looking black line guide guard piece.

Its the old 70 from 2015 with different colors, deep MGL spool and MM gears.

[/quote Also has a better handle and knobs. Looks like a 90mm. Wonder if the gears will fit the I series reels.

I wonder if they came out with new gears or just used gears from the engetsu 100?

We have already had a MM Curado 70. The 70 based Engetsu. People have already been swapping in those gears into Curado 70s. If the Curado 70 and Curado I share a gear set then you could already do a MM swap to the I

Being a big fan of the original 70, I’m looking forward to this iteration. Color is opinion, I happen to like this scheme. I’m happy to see Shimano offering the K in a 70 size with the aforementioned upgrades.

It's not a 70 sized K. It's not a new platform. It's the old 70 with MM gears and Curado K paint scheme. This is fine just understand it is not what it says it is.
