Re: Slp g1 CT shallow spool in 2020
Will this work with the Alphas CT as well?
Re: Slp g1 CT shallow spool in 2020
in their post on instagram I remember it mentioning the alphas ct
Re: Slp g1 CT shallow spool in 2020
It should be fine in Steez/Millionaire/Alphas CT. I have swapped standard spools, SLP “deep”, Roro, and KTF spools between my Steez and Millionaire with no issue. Alphas is the same...
Re: Slp g1 CT shallow spool in 2020
anybody know the weight of this spool?
Re: Slp g1 CT shallow spool in 2020
Weight should be near to original spool. Difference in inertia comes from reduced mass of line.

Re: Slp g1 CT shallow spool in 2020
It looks more heavily ported, but that could just be me.
Re: Slp g1 CT shallow spool in 2020
Looks like you can also get this spool in a semi-order slp steez ct. Not quite clear to me if there is a major gap in between the regular ct and the new steel air, but why not I suppose.

Re: Slp g1 CT shallow spool in 2020
In similar design (material thickness) shallow spools are heavier than deep spools, because diameter of spool bottom is bigger in shallow spool and more aluminium is needed.. And if similar strength is needed, similar thickness is needed for shallow spool than for deep spool.
Re: Slp g1 CT shallow spool in 2020
Thanks. I get that increased diameter of the spool base will increase amount of material used. Slightly.
Actually, just thought it was a typo by SLP :-)
We will have to weigh them soon

Re: Slp g1 CT shallow spool in 2020
I bought recently shallow spool to my Z2020 and it's slightly heavier (0.6 g) than deep spool. But loaded with line shallow spool is of course lighter.
Re: Slp g1 CT shallow spool in 2020
I now have two of the SV700S spools coming in. They are being sold by various shops in Japan incl. Hedgehog.
Weight is slightly higher than the standard spool, as noted above.
Both the standard and shallow version is weighed in the end of this video

Anybody knows if you can you order Steez CT through SLPW semi order system?, I though they were going to do it but I don't see it being available anywhere and their website only has option for original steez sv tw semi-order.
Re: Slp g1 CT shallow spool in 2020
Went fishing this morning with Daiwa Wise Stream 62lb-3, Daiwa Millionaire CT with a new 700S spool installed, and 6LB Inviszx line. I used a variety of spinners and spoons weighing 3.5 to 7 grams. Magnets were set to 6/10 or 7/10 and tension knob with slight if any spool movement.
This is literally the first time that I thoroughly enjoyed an entire trip with the Millionaire reel. So far, I find the 700S to be the best spool that I have used in the reel including stock spool, SLP 700, KTF, and some DIY/Aliexpress spools.
