I know the jdm market usually be the first to leak things out but no YouTube videos out yet. Mainly interested in baitcast reels as I’m more than happy with the one stradic ci4 I’ve got. I know the curado 70 has been on clearance & I did hear talks about a curado 70mgl awhile back. I think it’s close for the Metanium to be updated also. Maybe someone has some inside info/pics. There’s a lot of paparazzi’s on tackle tour, lol.

Rumor is, everyone likes the Tatula so much so that Daiwa allowed Shimano to borrow their design. I think that shimano fans will be very excited to have their own little spider. As a Daiwa fan, i enjoy having all kind of spiders on my reels.

PS: Can shimano take the Tatula from Daiwa? Please?

maybe its payback because the Daiwa ballistic spinning reel is a carbon copy of the Ci4+, same handle, color scheme and everything

i posted on bbc boards a while back about a question a guy asked about upcoming reels. i told him ( just assuming) that shimano would do a new metanium, and something in the 50-70 size range due to the curado 70 being discounted also. Dan replied and said there would not be a new 50 platform coming up. he didnt deny the metanium though lol.

And they just need to create the best ice fishing bait casting reel... :big grin: without costing $400 some...more like in the $50-$100 range.

Don't know if I should buy the met mgl for 299 or get a bantam mgl or just wait for the zillion 10. Shame that the zillion 10 is "freshwater only"

$300 for a US warranty Met MGL is pretty nice, but I am crossing my fingers for stock brass gears in a new model, maybe in a slightly smaller body too. The Bantam is a boss reel. I just got my third one in the American Legacy Fishing sale with the IMX-PRO LTD, which I'm giving as a gift. I will be able to run Bantams on all three of my casting setups for kayak fishing which makes me very happy. I like the SLX XT I have, but the smoothness of the Bantam is almost intoxicating. It just disappears in the hand, especially due to the small size. I would totally buy a Bantam 300 if they made one, but it would probably end up costing the same as a Calcutta Conquest. I might still prefer the Bantam form factor though... maybe in a year or two :)

Yes. Although the chronarch G is the one they push for inshore.

From what i understand the mgl spools aren't salt water friendly

As long as they aren’t in a composite reel, the spools are fine in the salt.
