2019 Daiwa Admira Baitcaster

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

No mention of any type of mag braking though.

At 135 grams, I don't think it has magnets. I think it is a jigging reel, like the Daiwa Kohga TW. It goes to show you that Daiwa is not going to be shy to use this platform for future reels.

Nice find Polkfish!

Yep, looks like a Candy Red Steez CT with no Mag Braking.

I talked to a Daiwa Japan friend and it is indeed a jigging model based on the Steez CT frame...

If it's CT spool + sideplate compatible...

You never know on those transitioned jiggin reels. Daiwa probobly went to as few lengths as possible to modify that reel. Meaning, they probobly just took out the interals on the sideplate. You might be able to swap the spool and install the internals and turn it into a flaming red CT SV.

But for all that effort and cost, you could send your Steez CT SV to Decade Works in Japan and have them create whatever magical color reel you wanted :D

True. But a couple steez ct side plates, ktf spool, and other upgrades would look real sweet on a Racing Design. The whole setup would probably still be less expensive than a steez ct at US MSRP too.

This reel simply forecasts the eventual zillion in sv and of different color scheme.

Think its a reel designed for filefish, or leatherjackets as we call them here in Oz. Delicious but often in plague proportions and considered pests when they move in on grounds when you are targeting something else. Reel seems an expensive reel for its intended purpose but could be used for slow pitch jigging on deeper grounds. Looks nice though.

I can't imagine those knobs being thumb friendly. I like to rest my thumbs on a flat knob when reeling a baitcaster.

It's basically the new Aird by the looks of it.
This is the way.
