TD Zillion spool info

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

TD Zillion spool info

Post by Moosehead » Wed Mar 27, 2019 2:41 pm

Ok, I thought the spool on the "normal" OG Zillion weighed as much as the Fuego(21-23) and that the Crazy Cranker's (Zillion 100 PA) black spool weighed less...like 19. And was a good choice for the Fuego...is this not accurate or did I wake up thinking this was true?

Any OG Zillion spool is gonna be lighter. You can even source a 100M spool from a TD Z US Trail.

Taking them to work today and putting them on a scale. Is the 100pa spool lighter than both of them?

No. I think they are just different colors.

Forgot them at home so I'll bring the scale home tonight and weigh them. Would be great if someone could weigh the Zillion 100pa spool for comparison.

Just weighed them:
The Fuego spool stock bearing- 22.6g
The Zillion spool ZPI bearing- 19.8g
Brian at Tackletrap is throwing a Zillion 100pa spool on the scale and letting me know.

OEM Zillion/Zillion 50th spool will be typically be 21g with OEM bearing, Zillion LTD spool would be 18g. Type R, HLC, and 100M would all be around 16g IIRC, and J-Dream 14g
