Are your Steez A brake dial indicator a little off center to the numbers? Wondering if its same on morethan or they've fixed that

Does the Morethan PE TW and the Steez A both detach exactly the same way??? I know the Steez A and Steez SV TW are slightly different...

Yeah same way. I almost tried to switch sideplates and take a pic but i didn’t wanna mess up my zpi inductors in case something was different.

To be honest I haven’t tested that yet. I’ve been pitching with it mostly, but next outing it may go on a different rod, because I’m curious as well.

Which would be the best purpouse for this reel ? 8.6 ratio with bronze elements its better ? If already sold a Daiwa BBS and this could replace him. I was using bbs for crankin baits I don't know what to do... seems to be too fast for cranking really?

I've been using for bottom contact near cover, as well as, punching directly into the heaviest cover I encounter. I've used it to slow roll (really have to concentrate on slowing down) swimbaits. After fishing the zillion 9.1 for a couple seasons I've found that I like to go super slow with high speed ratio than crank on a low ratio. After I hook up, I bring that fish in fast and it reduces the time where I can lose it. I can also crank in slack for hook set and do just about anything I need quickly all to minimize loss of fish. It took me a while to get used to it, but I find it possible to turn that handle slowly. I have to, because FL bass (often my main target) like slow presentation when using moving baits.

Are you refering to 8.6 right ? So Do you think that could work with crankin rod ?

No; it would not be ideal. I can pull a big soft swimbait as slow as possible easily with the 8.6, but a hard billed crank is too cumbersome to control and work over cover for me much above something like 6.3.

You could replace the gear set with 6.3 from a Steez A or source the 5.5 set from the JDM crazy cranker model if using it for really large baits.

Of interest is that on the inductor side of the Morethan spool, there's a lip that i assume is meant to catch saltwater and stop it from getting to the palm side spool bb. The same lip is not on the spool facing the handle.

Correct on the lip. Only on the inductor/palm side. Not positive on the purpose, but it’s not on the steez spool. I took some pics of the 2 spools and some measurements in mm. Looks like the steez spool should hold more line although I may be mistaken.

For those of you that have the Morethan PE 1000 TW in the 8.6 version... How do you think it handle double duty with Frogs and Paddle Tails (1/2 - 3/4 oz + 5" body).

I'm kicking around purchasing a new toy..
