TD-Z nose panel

Post by Moosehead » Sat Aug 25, 2018 1:51 pm

Does another Daiwa model share the same nosepiece as the TD-Z/Fuego. Or do you have to source that specific nose panel? I would like to have a couple of spares..

I just replaced my nose piece on my TD Zillion it was in good shape but had turned gold... changing it out made a huge difference!!!! I didn't know it was the same nosepiece.

Those are discontinued and sold out, unfortunately.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Well I have three more extra TD Zillion need pieces brand new, I just didn't know they were interchangeable with the TD-Z. Kinda happy about that...

No worries, just didn't want folks hopes dashed after thinking the part was still available. I have begun to buy reels just for parts lol!

Did some of the old Zillions come with "goldish" nosepieces or is that a sign of age? And if it is can it be polished. I have Zillions and on the nosepieces one is definitely more gold than the others. I never really noticed it before but there definitely is a difference...

The reason I ask is the "goldish" one I just replaced was even kind of gold on the underside as well, maybe I just never noticed it before. All my replacements are shiny chrome with no gold tone... They look very close until you hold them up to each other...

When the chrome wears off, it looks gold.

I've cleaned up/sanded/primed a couple old ones and painted them a mat black. turned out really well and hasn't chipped yet.
