Steez SV103 question.

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Steez SV103 question.

Post by fishonsc » Mon Jul 30, 2018 5:01 pm

I have a left hand steez sv103. Is there any 6.3 brass gears that will fit this reel? Thanks!

Is that the 8.1 Steez SV 103? If so, I believe Zillion gears will fit.

If not, you would be looking for original TD-Z gears which are very hard to find. You can get new 7.1 brass gears though.

It is is the 6.3 steez sv103. I seen where tackle trap has the 7.1 brass gear set. I mainly use this reel for cranking and would like to stay with 6.3. Thanks for your help!

They'll be tough to do then. However, the 5.8 original gears from a TD-Z 103ML would work and they're brass. I'd say those are easier to find.

The 8:1 Steez SV103 has brass gears. You could try to source those (I'm sure the Tackletrap can get), or sell your reel to acquire the 8:1

I ended up use the 6.3 main gear from a sv103. Just had the use the sv 103's drag stack. Worked like a champ. Thanks!
