I was wondering how everyone is liking their Curado K reels?
I have a Curado I that my son wants, should I keep the "I" or give it to him and get me a new K?

Re: Curado K
While i own basically every model prior to the K - I've had good use of all of them.
After stripping it down and a little more than i should've with the top plate (but I'm always going to push it), and rebuilding it properly and with the 6.5:1 ratio gears instead of the XG gears its been a eye opener.
Its got to be the smoothest Curado I own - but they're all pretty smooth initially. However there are great points to argue in tech and longevity points to argue in all prior models too. The K doesnt really stray too far from the I in a lot of ways especially the main points of functioning mechanics.
My two favourites are the B's & e's - just tanks but very aged in regards to how theyre built - but thats understandable as time and technology progresses.
The K is a mish mash of a lot of models prior, I would've incorporated certain functionality improvements, and things i would've done much differently for instance side plate B tollerances.
The K winds beautifully, casts accurately and its a overall a perfectly functioning multi use reel. Time will tell how it holds up and its depreciating value.
The satin paint will be a hard one to touch up too if you likebto keep them looking their best over time.

Re: Curado K
Excellent info.
I will be using it primary for crankbaits, so I will be purchasing the 6:2.1 ratio.

Re: Curado K
I did order one today, got it new for $150 shipped.
Re: Curado K
Very smooth and very comfortable reel. A real winner. Love those micro gears.

I've always been a Daiwa guy, but lately I have been buying a ton of Shimano...guess it's just another phase I'm going through.
Anyway...I have a K and can say I like it much better than the I...feel smoother, yet more connected to me. Palms great and no issue with the breaking system. Great jig and mag worm reel.
