The braid looks thicker than 0.28mm to me, but I could be wrong. It is notoriously difficult to measure the actual diameter of braided lines. One of the most reliable methods is used on the braid testing thread on Stripersonline. By weighing the mass (M) of a one metre length of braid on accurate scales, and using a density of 0.85Mg/mm**3, you can back-figure the diameter using the formula

D= sqrt(4*M/(1000*0.85*pi))

Sir, please click link of pictures i provided above. I'm afraid I don't know the different between 1016 & 1520
I believe that is 1520 shown. I think. Looking at photos perhaps line measured within gauge and line installed are not same? They appear different color. Either way, I do hope you enjoy the reel. Best wishes.

mind to explain in detail on what is correct way to spool up main line to achieve 100% as per given spec?
There is no way to be certain the line diameter the manufacture used to determine the spec, or how full/tightly they fill the spool, but according to your report, my 13 metanium has more capacity than your 1520 ryoga. I may not get 100% capacity, but I sure as heck isnt getting 60%. Something's wrong and I don't know what, but all my low profile reels including zillion SV TW and aldebaran has comparable line capacity to your large size ryoga, and thats not right.

Thanks, I did try measure few times using calliper but never get the same result. First 2 try I get 0.3X, those 0.28 that I get is with slight pressure to get thinnest diameter

Could be due to inconsistent line diameter of cheap kastking brand that I use. will look for another main line soon

BARRAMANIAC wrote:Just from pictures this reel is based on the Catalina BJ , Millionaire Basara body, with a few alterations with no resemblance to the original ryoga. The old Ryoga was tried and proven on PNG black Bass and Asian Giant Snakehead, will wait for reviews as to how well micro gears hold up.

I just spooled my Ryoga 1520 with 0.40mm mono line. I got 278 feet (~92-93 yards) on.

Daiwa specs it at 100m/110yards for 0.37mm line. Seems pretty accurate to me.

Hi Guys,

I have spare 1016SV spool and I am pretty sure it will fit perfectly for 2018 Ryoga.

The question is has anyone have tried that before? If yes, Does it make any differences compare to the original spool?

Thanks in advance.
