Daiwa Fuego CT compared to Tatula CT

Hi all,

Couldn't think of a better place to answer this question than here on Tackle Tour. I currently own 2 Tatula CT (as well as multiple other standard sized) and love them. I use them mainly for frogs and flipping with heavy braid into heavy cover and they've done the job flawlessly.

I was wondering if anyone has used the Fuego CT and can compare it to either the Tatula CT or standard Tatula... (for me, the Tatula and Tatula Type-R feel the same as far as use).

Really I'm wondering if the t-wing system is worth the extra 30 bucks or not. I've been extremely happy with the Tatula CT so I wouldn't be upset at all if someone told me it is much better and worth the extra cost. Just don't want to be shelling out cash that isn't necessary. Most importantly if I were to get the Fuego CT it would be used for heavy flipping/punching exclusively. 65-80lb line and a 1oz-1.5oz weight. The lowest I would ever go with the combo would be 3/4oz. I fish with a locked drag so my main concern would be, does the t-wing system help with pitching at all in the real world?

Same reel, minus the T wing. I personally prefer the Fuego CT. I dont care for the TWS.

If I'd know the Feugo was coming out after the Tatula CT i would've gone the Fuego also...

Nothing fun about abrasives getting into the pivot point between levelwind shaft and body...

I have couple tat ct's..I see the fuego has two less bearings , where are they missing from , the knobs ?
not a big deal , I buy bearings off ebay cheap...fuego ct on ebay for $69 , that's cheap ! might try a couple.

$69 for a Fuego CT seems like a steal. Good to know they stack up close to the CTs. I love my CTs.

Wormshaft and pawl are both metal. Come on, it aint no Shimano.

lol! I have a Fuego CT also, only mine has a Ray's shallow spool. It is a finesse machine! 1/8 spinnerbaits just fly off the reel. Planning to upgrade soon with extra bearings in levelwind and knobs, but it is already smooth.

I have done a few where I have added 2 bearings to the wormshaft, and it's rather nice. I opted to get the Abu Revo X as a flipping reel on the budget to see how it compares to the Daiwa offering. So far, the tolerance of the Fuego is nicer, but the palmability of the Revo X is better for me. My issue with the X s tolerance is the driveshaft "in and out" play. But I can fix that. Lol
